Seeing the post here and then a video posted on X by SP9DLM Darek, I decided it was time to put the Stratex module and PLL to work that I had already had in the closet for more than a year.
I also took the PSU and control module for the PLL from Andrzej, and as a 2300/432MHz transverter I used an SG-LAB transverter that had been unused for some time.
At the output I mounted a manufactured power attenuator, to reduce the power from 34dBm to 9dBm as needed by the 24 GHz block on the tx input, then I assembled everything in a PVC box.
Since everything was working correctly, I moved on to making the flanges and then the Horns. I calculated a Horn that came out at 22dBi, which I could print on an A4 sheet of paper, as the printer can do, and which I could then overlay on the 0.3mm Brass sheet from which I made the horns.
On Sunday, April 20, I made the first QSO at 100km with Jack - YO3GNF, using the new transverter, with Jack - YO3GNF, who was portable on the mountain at 100km away.
Strong S9 signals give us hope that the small transverter promises QSOs at even greater distances. At the moment, one of the problems for us is the locations, most of which are not accessible by car.
I have attached some pictures with various stages during the assembly in the box, the making of the WR42 flanges, then the Horns, and the two videos of the QSO, one made by me and the other by YO3GNF.
