Układy pomocnicze do TRV Wavelab na 24 GHz
#85
Robert,
the test was to show that XN converted to XP is as useful as this Rx test and the earlier tx test showed.
Earlier, I described an Rx test between a trv XP and my old trv based on DMC modules,
the video from which is placed on the dropbox does not allow sharing to everyone, unless I pay something for the dropbox.

TRV DJ6EP has Rx gain control, which is set so as not to provide additional gain when WaveLab is connected.

Previously, I ran Rx tests of the XN version without modification on XP at LO-24Ghz, where I noticed better XN sensitivity.

You are wrong about scaling the FT847 S-meter, where 1S increments on VHF / UHF agree with 6 dB increments (-+ 1 dB).
The FT817 is just like you write.
It does not change the logical fact that even if the S-meter is not linear, the differences in it are still the differences if the measurement is between the same ranges.

Maybe I will test with an SDR receiver, but in this case I used a radio that might work with WaveLab.
I am writing about it so that someone who has an NF-meter would do something for other amateurs and refute what I wrote, hi!

By the way, only with EME you are able to use the minimum detectable signal at your stations.
With tropo communications you are struggling with weak operators, poorly positioned antenna or no correspondent on the other side,
and more than these few dB's difference it is important that as many operators as possible on the other side of your antenna have equipment!
